Fuel calculators

Fuel planning is arithmetic, but it is arithmetic where mistakes matter more than anywhere else. These tools work out how much fuel a trip needs, how long a given quantity will last, how far that reaches at a planned groundspeed, what your aircraft is actually burning, and what a volume of fuel weighs. None of them assume a reserve or a fuel density on your behalf: you enter both.

• Trip fuel required Planned time and fuel flow into the total fuel a trip needs.
• Fuel endurance How long the fuel on board will last before the reserve is reached.
• Range Turn usable endurance and a planned groundspeed into a distance.
• Observed fuel burn rate Work out what your aircraft actually burned, from the refill and the hours.
• Fuel volume and weight Convert a fuel volume into a weight using a density you supply.
